As Radio 1 presenters gear up to say their final goodbyes to Zane Lowe tomorrow, Greg James (whose daily handover with Lowe has been a staple for many years) has shared his own personal farewell, and, as you’d expect from the duo’s friendship, is as irreverent and emotional as one would hope.
Lowe leaves the station after well-over-a-decade on Thursday (5th March) as he heads towards Los Angeles for a new career at Apple Inc (with rumours abound that the music-maker will be joining the Beats team as Music Curator).
Stream James’ farewell below; it’ll make you laugh and cry (and set in the realisation on how much Lowe will be missed!).
