Madonna talks BRIT Awards ‘mishap’

Whilst her BRIT Awards performance may not have started the way she had hoped, Madonna still managed to reign supreme on Wednesday, following her ‘wardrobe malfunction’ that made her the talk of the whole show.

After falling off the stage (with gasps from onlookers), the 56-year-old hitmaker then continued like a pro, whilst also capturing a majority of the headlines, and whilst her own mention of the incident was on her official Instagram, she has now opened up to Jonathan Ross regarding the mishap.

In the episode, due to be screened in just over a fortnight, Madonna explained the circumstance…. “I was thrown a wrench at the beginning of the performance. I was told to tie my cape and start much further back and I had to walk further and everyone was worried my cape was slide off so they tied it really tight around my neck,” she said, adding “So here I am marching in like the Queen, I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled the silky string and it wouldn’t come undone.”

The star’s reflection of the performance probably wasn’t one that she’d have hoped for…. “It was a nightmare” said Madonna, “I like to be amazing, I rehearse and rehearse so when I do a show it is effortless and I create magic. I did the opposite, I actually created a horror show for everyone.”

Ironically in terms of timing, after the incident, the singer then sung the lines “I’m gonna carry on, lifted me up, and watched me stumble.” (from her new single Living For Love), before telling Ross “I’m never writing lyrics like that again – the universe was trying to teach me a lesson,”
