Following the track’s ‘Hottest Record’ unveiling at the start of the month, Madeon has dropped the official video for Pay No Mind, the second single to be lifted from his upcoming debut studio album, Adventure.
Featuring vocal assistance from US quartet Passion Pit (themselves who recently revealed their return to the scene with two new tracks, Where the Sky Hangs and Lifted Up (1985)), the Pay No Mind visual coincides with Madeon’s first headline London show in almost two years at the end of next month.
Of the video, Madeon said “I really wanted to film all three videos at once and have a continuous story that would echo the story of the album. I’ve always hidden clues and messages in my songs and artworks that my fans have picked up on and I wanted to illustrate that narrative more directly in the videos. The characters live in this futuristic, isolated city and end up discovering this ancient layer that’s been ignored by everyone else, it eventually leads them to an escape with this mysterious, perhaps sacred tower as their destination. I wanted to keep the story as vague and symbolic as possible, but I’ve always been touched by characters growing up and escaping their world to venture into the unknown.”
So there we have it. Tickets for Madeon’s Oval Space London show are on sale now via Ticketmaster UK (here), and will see Madeon taking the stage on 31st March, one day after the release of Adventure. Hit the iTunes link for the album preorder, and catch the full Pay No Mind video below:
