It’s safe to say that Missy Elliott must be floating in a cloud of positivity right now; after almost a decade away from the scene, her appearance during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime show last week firmly relaunched her back into the hearts of many. Winning accolades from fans (whom have never left Missy’s side), to the industry itself, Elliott’s appearance wasn’t just right for her, it was necessary at a time where the music landscape seems to be in a fairly disjointed place.
However, by right, it seems like Missy is well on the path to take back her crown, and whilst new music is still under wraps (the follow-up to 2005’s The Cookbook is, apparently, still in the oven) , post-Super Bowl rumours spun regarding an apparent verse on Jack Ü’s Kiesza-collaboration, Take Ü There.
Well last night, all was confirmed after Diplo (whose partnership with Skrillex makes up the Jack Ü project), dropped some previews of Missy’s inclusion onto the track onto his official Snapchat.
One thing’s for sure, Missy’s never sounded better; we’re feeling a throwback to some Gina Thompson here!
