Jazz musician Gregory Porter has confirmed a collaboration with Disclosure, following an introduction to the duo after a chance-meeting with Sam Smith.
Porter told of the new music that “by way of meeting [Sam Smith] and tweets and stuff like that, I’ve found that he’s a fan of my music…. he also mentioned to [Disclosure] that they should work with me and that’s how that happened.”
Currently a release date for the untitled material has yet to be confirmed, but the idea of the two camps recording together is an exciting proposition – both are champions in their own craft, and with previous Gregory Porter tracks having already received the electronic remix treatment (ie 20syl’s rendition of Liquid Spirit), then there’s something massively-intriguing by a Disclosure tie-in.
