New music: The Prodigy – ‘Nasty’

Following various teasers, The Prodigy have followed on last week’s announcement of new album The Day Is My Enemy with the record’s lead single, Nasty.

Premiered this evening by Zane Lowe (and touted as his ‘Hottest Record In The World’), Nasty is as fiery and snarling as The Prodigy have been known in their long history, with Liam Howlett supporting the track saying “I can’t tell you why this record came out so angry, I think its just inbuilt in me….. It’s more about what I like music to do. I’ve always seen music I like as a form of attack. That’s what I use music for, it’s an attack. I didn’t plan this album to sound violent, it’s just the sound that came out of the studio , a kind of build up over the last 4 years”

Alongside the unveiling of Nasty, The Prodigy have also confirmed a string of UK summer tour dates. Tickets for The Day Is My Enemy tour go on sale this Wednesday direct from Ticketmaster UK; the album meanwhile lands on 30th March.
