Could the Wealdstone Raider achieve the unthinkable and become a last-minute contender for this weekend’s Christmas Number 1? According to today’s recent iTunes Chart Update, the charity release could well be in with a change!
The Wealdstone Raider became something of an internet meme last year when he was caught mocking a fan, whilst drunk, during a football match. Now the Raider, real name Gordon Hill, has released the meme (now called Got No Fans), with a few extra lines (atop a dance-beat), with proceeds split between three – Autism Concern, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, and a donation to Wealdstone Raiders Youth FC.
Got No Fans, which currently sits at No.3 on iTunes, has pretty-heavy competition, mind. The current top-two chart battle is between X Factor 2014 champion Ben Haenow (with his cover of OneRepublic’s Something I Need), and Mark Ronson, who rush-released his impressive comeback single Uptown Funk, featuring Bruno Mars.
