Norwegian producer Kygo has become one of the country’s most-exciting exports over the past 12-months; his fresh reimagination of house music as an entire genre, re-dubbed as ‘tropical house’, has captured hearts and minds within the scene, whilst his various remixes have brought Kygo notoriety with music fans who may not have felt initially connected with house music. Indeed it may have been his remix of Ed Sheeran’s I See Fire that brought Kygo prominence, however look closely at his vast discography, and you’ll find plenty of other gems in there (our particular favourite still lies across Kygo’s edit of Seinabo Sey’s Younger).
It’s therefore refreshing, and exciting, to hear that the musician is readying his own original material, and recently unveiled his debut track Firestone. Featuring a collaboration with Australian singer Conrad, Firestone is set for an official Spotify premiere next week, however has already found its way online.
Stream Firestone in full below; we can’t wait to hear what else Kygo’s been cooking up!
