Matt Hales, aka Aqualung, has sprung back into the limelight following 2010’s Magnetic North, with new single Eggshells, the latest track from his upcoming album, 10 Futures.
Featuring the sultry sounds of Lianne La Havas, Eggshells is a wonderful slice of electronic soul, almost a stark departure from Aqualung’s previous discography, clearly influenced from Hales’ time away from the scene (during which saw him collaborate with the likes of Paloma Faith, Rihanna, Birdy and more).
With 10 Futures (which lands next year), hearing appearances from a plethora of guest stars (Prides, Joel Compass, Josef Salvat and of course La Havas herself), there seems to be a lot riding on the new collection, however Eggshells, which was produced by Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence, tells us that the album is shaping up to be something special indeed.
Stream Eggshells below; 10 Futures lands on 19th January.
