Watch: Band Aid 30 unveil ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ official video

Following a week of publicity, Sir Bob Geldof has unveiled the official video for the fourth version of charity record Do They Know It’s Christmas.

Recorded under the guise of Band Aid 30, the single, which goes on sale tomorrow morning (Monday 17th November) at 8am, has been curated by Geldof and Midge Ure in a bid to tackle the growing ebola virus that’s currently growing in Western Africa.

Marking the premiere on tonight’s X Factor, Geldof described the virus as “the most anti-human disease”, continuing “we can stop it, and we will stop it, and we will support those immensely brave 1,000 NHS workers, those young doctors and nurses who are going down there, those young soldiers… and the governments who are leading the world on this.”

Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure brought together some of the finest in British talent for the recording, including Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Paloma Faith, Emeli Sande and Sam Smith, whilst Bono also made an appearance, switching his iconic line to something more suited for this year’s release, singing “Well, tonight, we’re reaching out and touching you”.

For those wishing to donate to Band Aid 30, head over to the official website here or text AID to 70060 (UK only). All proceeds from the iTunes sale will go to the cause, whilst the British Chancellor has also confirmed all VAT from the sale will be donated too. As we also understand, iTunes will not pay out any commission to the tracks to website referrals (such as ourselves), however should this be wrong, we guarantee an commission earned from the sale in the below link will be passed back to Band Aid 30.

2) Sending a text message with the word AID to 70060
3) Clicking the iTunes link:

IMPORTANT: Please do not be cheap and rip this video. As Sir Bob Geldof aptly puts it, “Pay for everything. It’s a quid, a couple of quid.”
