With anticipation running high for both the new Hunger Games: Mockingjay movie sequel, alongside its star-studded soundtrack, Lorde has unveiled a fresh edit (call it a remix, maybe) of the soundtrack’s lead release Yellow Flicker Beat. Reworked by Kanye West, (minus an appearance by the man himself), the track also receives a slightly reworked title (Flicker), and is more subliminal than its predecessor – the thumping chorus has gone, and there seems a pretty much constant flow throughout.
It’s nothing spectacular, particularly with the two artists involved, unfortunately, but strangely it still fuels further excitement for the soundtrack’s release (Kanye’s Flicker rework is also included in the overall project).
