Hardwell crowned DJ Mag’s ‘World’s Best DJ’ for second-year running

EDM was the genre to reign supreme this year in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 ranking of the world’s best stars behind the decks.

For the second-year-running, Dutch progressive dance DJ Hardwell claimed the top-spot, with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike moving into the Top 5, claiming second place. Young DJ Martin Garrix, whose hit Animals became one of the biggest tracks of 2013, earned his stars at 3 (moving up 36 places from last year), whilst Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto made up the rest of the Top 5.

Meanwhile, DVBBS, Oliver Heldens and DJ Snake were just some of the 25 new entries in this year’s Top 100, whilst NYC duo The Chainsmokers’ success with Kanye and Selfie helped them nip into the ranking at No.97.

With just one major live event this year however (at January’s Grammy Awards), Daft Punk were the surprising act to appear in the listing (43), whilst even being the top-earning DJ in the world failed to help Calvin Harris appear inside the Top 10 (he’s firmly placed at 11).

The full Top 100 were announced at Amsterdam’s ADE earlier this evening – check the full ranking below… there’s likely to be a lot to mull over on this one!
