New music: Tourist – ‘Wait’

If you’ve been a regular Stagedoor FM reader, you’d no-doubt be well-acquainted with Tourist – absolutely one of the most exciting young British producers to have emerged over the past year or so.

Back in the Spring, Tourist shared his Patterns EP (which still gets regular rotation round our office) – with inclusions from Lianne La Havas (on the title track), and Will Heard (I Can’t Keep Up), it’s definitely one to check out if you’ve yet to lay ears on (stream here).

Fast-forwarding to the conclusion of the year, however, and Tourist drops the first piece of all-new material since signing to Polydor, in the mesmerising Wait. Championing the direction the producer seems to be heading into, Wait is an impressive slice of lo-fi electronica that gets us massively excited for his upcoming show (he’s supporting Annie Mac at AMP in Brixton in December), whilst Tourist is readying his new single for 2015.
