Following on from his features with Cyril Hahn (Open) and Blonde (Foolish) over the past few months, young PMR-signed singer/songwriter Ryan Ashley has unveiled his first solo track, Hands.
The haunting R&B-tinged cut hears production from LA-based producer Felix Snow (SZA, Leona Lewis, Gallant etc), who throws across a melancholic beat with some surprising ‘dial-up’ electronic tones harking back to yesteryear. The instrumental ultimately sits well with Ashley’s vocals – from his previous [aforementioned] releases, these kinds of beats are more suited to the youngster’s more understated and soulful approach.
