Busta Rhymes has confirmed he will no longer attend today’s planned Bestival appearance, following a mis-selling of an unscheduled appearance at London’s The Forum venue in Kentish Town.
Taking to Twitter to clear up the fiasco (after The Forum’s gig was cancelled not-long after tickets were put on sale), the iconic rapper confirmed, “The reason we are not at London or at Bestival this year is because of a fraud promoter who illegally advertised me to be at The Forum in London”.
Busta Rhymes’ scheduled appearance at Bestival, which was confirmed by all parties earlier in the summer, will be a big disappointment to fans – it was widely hoped that his appearance at the Isle Of Wight event would preview new material from his anticipated upcoming album ELE2. The good news however, though, is that the hip-hop star has already announced he is working with Bestival organisers to appear at next year’s event.
Check the full Twitter clear-up below (there’s some ‘name and shame’ going on too!). Meanwhile, turntablist maestro DJ Yoda will replace Busta Rhymes at Bestival’s Main Stage later on this afternoon (Sunday 7th September).
