Arguably one of the strongest examples of web-only programming transcending to on-screen TV is People Just Do Nothing, the behind-the-scenes mockumentary based on Kurupt FM, one of the biggest underground UK garage pirate radio stations in West London.
Now hitting BBC3 in a full-blown series, the airing of the first episode last weekend (20th July) garnered strong positive response from the ‘social-media generation’, aka the key audience for the show, particularly those with fond memories of the emergence of both UK garage alongside pirate radio stations back in the mid-90s.
