Over a week ago, the UK’s Official Charts Company confirmed that as of the end of July 2014, audio streaming will finally make its way into the British charts, following successful trials in both Germany and the US.
With that in mind, British tech company Ebuyer have charted the history of music player technology, from the early days of LPs and tapes, all the way through to portable music devices and of course music streaming services that we have become accustomed to in recent years.
Check it out below, it definitely makes for interesting reading…. particularly following last year’s news that both vinyls and cassettes made a [whilst somewhat small in quantity] resurgence. Are we prepared to go fully-digital? Only time will tell, but there’s still something to be said by holding some kind of physical copy!
