Michael Eavis has confirmed that headliners for next year’s Glastonbury Festival have already been booked, adding that Prince will not be amongst the trio.
Confirming the news at the annual Glastonbury Festival Press Conference earlier today (29th June), Eavis teased that one of the bands for next year’s event was actually booked during Metallica’s headline slot last night.
“We’ve got three headliners already, and that’s without Prince.” said Eavis, adding more information about one of the bands, saying “I can’t tell you who it was but that was done on the platform watching Metallica. It it a British artist? He’s definitely British, but the band are not British any more.”
During the press conference, Eavis also confirmed 2017 as the year Glastonbury takes a break. The fallow year has been used in the past (every five years, give-or-take) to allow the land to recuperate.
Kasabian are set to close this year’s festival on the iconic Pyramid Stage, clashing with Disclosure (West Holts), Massive Attack (Other Stage) and London Grammar (John Peel Stage).
Dates for Glastonbury 2015 are expected to be announced soon.
