Snapshot review: Lily Allen brings out the hits and proves Brits love having her back

Whilst the past week has undoubtedly been hard for Lily Allen (the star recently parted ways with her management whom she’d been with since the start of her career), this evening’s show at Glastonbury proved she was still an unstoppable force.

Playing a plethora of songs from her impeccably-strong discography, Allen ensured the crowd were the focus of the event, bringing them in at every opportunity. Even It’s Not Me, It’s You album track Fuck You drove strong positive outcome from the supportive crowd, consisting of a mix of the young (6 year-olds in full force), to the not-so-young (we were rocking by a great-granny!).

This isn’t your typical review; we’re not going to meander into highs and lows, points of improvements and points of highlights; what we will say however is, bar the [slightly] late start (due to an electrical storm), Allen proved that whilst she may have been away from the public eye for a while, her adorning fanbase is still in full-force. Whilst Sheezus may not have been the follow-up some may have hoped for (heck, the artist admitted herself that track-inclusions were not up to her), Lily Allen’s live shows make you realise how necessary she is to modern pop music – her ‘don’t give a fuck’ attitude still hasn’t tired, and, well, her lyrics are still thought-provoking enough to undoubtedly cement longevity. The fans will be here; Lily just needs to ensure she continues to deliver strength in numbers.

Long Live Sheezus
