Following last week’s unveiling of the Rich Homie Quan-featuring Thirsty, Mariah Carey has debuted another track from her upcoming studio album Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.
You Don’t Know What To Do, which features vocal assistance by rapper Wale, was unveiled on US TV programme, The Today Show, and sees Mariah take an almost Jocelyn Brown-stance on the intro (akin to Somebody Else’s Guy).
We’ve got high hopes for this one. You Don’t Know What To Do is a grower, that’s for sure; however we must air our concerns that R&B has moved on fairly significantly since Mariah’s big resurrection with The Emancipation Of Mimi back at the start of the century, and we’re uncertain at this point as to whether what we’re hearing from the new album will be able to make a cut through in the charts as much as label Def Jam may be pinning on.
