Stagedoor Sessions: Story Books cover Lykke Li’s ‘Love Out Of Lust’, and perform original ‘To Be Good’

Regular Stagedoor FM readers may have noticed we’ve been showing a lot of love for YouTube channel Ont’Sofa recently, and there’s a good reason behind this (besides the fact the team there are made up of some jolly-good chaps!).

Earlier in the year, we forged an alliance with the channel as we look to bring you our brand new series of acoustic videos, dubbed ‘Stagedoor Sessions’.

Back in April, we invited down Kent-based band Story Books to film some videos for the new series, and it turned into a pretty-brilliant spectacle. Performing two tracks (a cover of Lykke Li’s Love Out Of Lust and original song, To Be Good), Chris from the band charmed us with his ‘unique’ charisma, alongside his down-right talented vocal abilities.

Story Books have been gaining some strong attention over the past year, with the likes of The Guardian stating that the group “make melancholy intensity seem as natural as breathing”, whilst their debut EP Too Much A Hunter garnered strong support from the likes of Radio 1 DJs Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Phil & Alice, and Jen & Ally. Additionally, the band have recently completed their own headline tour supporting their latest EP, From Post To Post.
