Vic Mensa’s been seemingly quiet of late, but fortunately has bounced back with the dance-inspired Down On My Luck. We’d admit that we’ve let the side down on this one – we genuinely thought we had posted it when it was unveiled on Wednesday, so our bad on this…. fortunately our badness is someone-else’s badassness…. Down On My Luck is simply brilliant.
Many questioned the young US rapper’s support on Disclosure’s tour last year, but the end result works so well. Sure Down On My Luck sounds Disclosure’y (we’re making that a word from now on), but that’s no bad thing.
Check it out below, we’re sure you’ll have it on constant repeat. Down On My Luck is set for release in early July and is the lead release from Mensa’s upcoming as-yet-untitled studio record.
