Forget Metallica; the mystery Glastonbury headliner may just well be Foo Fighters

Unless you’ve been living under a rock over the past few days, you will be well aware of the apparent ‘confirmation’ of Metallica headlining the ‘Saturday-night’ slot at next month’s Glastonbury Festival. Heck, even The Sun have reported it as confirmed….. however, whilst no announcements have been made either way yet, we’re starting to hear reports that it may well indeed be the Foo Fighters who will take the coveted spot.

Today we heard from multiple parties (none of whom are affiliated with each other) regarding the potential of Foo Fighters leading the charge. Now, whilst these are still rumours (and we’d like to stress that fact!), the appearance of Dave Grohl and his band at the iconic Pyramid Stage will indeed ring true to the clues organiser Michael Eavis has been sharing. The band have yet to play the Pyramid Stage (their last appearance at Glastonbury was in 1998); and they are also one of the biggest current acts in the world (we stress current, vs Metallica whose last album was 2008’s Death Magnetic).

Again, these are solely rumours, however we are hearing things on good regard at this stage. Following yesterday’s ‘potential imminent announcement’ of a Metallica headline, social media became incredibly divided; a Foo Fighters confirmation will undoubtedly please many Glastonbury-goers.

The full line-up of next month’s event is still yet to be revealed, however an ‘early May’ unveiling has been confirmed; fingers crossed all the rumours will be put to bed soon!
