According to various sources, a Glastonbury announcement confirming Metallica’s headline slot is said to be ‘imminent’.
Gordon Smart, editor of the Scottish Sun, tweeted moments ago regarding the potential announcement, and if true, confirms organiser Michael Eavis’ comments earlier in the week regarding the missing headliner will be “one of the biggest-selling bands in the world at the moment”.
In a rare step back into the music lark, just been told #Metallica for #Glastonbury announcement is imminent…

Meanwhile, The Sun newspaper has also added further support to the rumours, seemingly confirming Metallica’s bookng.
The full line-up for Glastonbury 2014 is expected to be announced in the coming days, after Eavis mentioned “early May” (which is tomorrow!) during the same interview.
So far, just over 100 acts have been confirmed for the 5-day extravaganza at Somerset’s Worthy Farm, including headliners Kasabian and Arcade Fire, alongside Blondie, Dolly Parton, Ed Sheeran, London Grammar, Kelis and more.
More as we hear it.
