Coldplay have been confirmed to headline the Saturday night of this year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend.
The event, taking place for the first time in Glasgow from 23rd-25th May, means Coldplay will join the already announced lineup, so-far featuring Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, Danny Howard, alongside performances by Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora, Paolo Nutini and The 1975.
Tickets for the Big Weekend went on sale last month, with all fifty thousand tickets snapped up in just over half-an-hour.
The full line-up is expected to be announced next week.
