London Grammar have offered their words of support for new artists breaking into the scene, stating “if you are a band, you have to stick together…. and make sure you support each other”.

During an interview with IAmMusicTV‘s Carly Wilford (Rinse FM / RWD) at last month’s SXSW in Texas, the three-piece band offered support for unsigned artists, reminding them they “have to work really hard, and [to try to] find like-minded people to work with”.

Whilst the importance of the web has of course offered musicians further opportunities to ‘break cover’ over recent years, guitarist Dan Rothman reminded upcoming artists that YouTube and Twitter followers aren’t always the ‘be-all-and-end-all’ of trying to get signed…. “music is changing again; record companies and managers are looking for quality, and that’s why they want more than anything – a band with a vision….. make sure what you’re offering is good quality, clean…. and cool”.

London Grammar’s rise to metaphoric fame has been heavily documented over the past twelve months, with their fresh unique take on ambient electronic sounds captivating audiences across the UK, and further afield. With the release of forthcoming single Sights on the way, the band are also gearing up for their first main Glastonbury appearance this summer, following their rise into the ‘big league’.
