Glastonbury Festival in a bid to reduce waste at this year’s festival

In a bid to help the environment and cut down considerably on the use of plastic bottles, Glastonbury Festival organisers have teamed up with Water Aid (one of the three charity beneficiaries of the event) to encourage festival goers to bring reusable water bottles to this summer’s event.

Previous festival attendees will be well aware that the cost of bottled water soon stacks up (particularly if there’s hot weather!), so Glastonbury Festival and Water Aid have worked with the Raw Foundation to produce 100% stainless steel 750 ml water bottles, which can be filled up for free at the Water Aid kiosks around the field.

The steel bottles are priced at £10 and are a not-for-profit initiative. When ticket holders pay their ticket balance (from 1st – 7th April) they will have the option to order one of the stainless steel bottles for collection at the Festival.

This summer’s event sold out in record time when tickets went on sale toward the end of last year, with only a handful of acts confirmed so far.

For those who have not secured their ticket yet, it’s likely that the annual resale will take place shortly, with the rumoured date so far as 8th April.
