Cheryl Cole has confirmed she is to return to the judging panel of this year’s The X Factor, posting a picture of herself with Simon Cowell on her official Instagram account.
The reveal, teased earlier this evening by The Sun’s Head of Showbiz Dan Wootton, was then backed up by Cowell himself, who confirmed the news on his own Twitter account.
According to The Sun, Cole agreed a £1.5m sum to return to the judging panel, making her the ITV show’s highest-paid panellist other than boss Simon Cowell. According to the newspaper, a friend of Cole said “This is nothing to do with the money. She loves the show and has unfinished business.”
The return to the series follows Cole and Cowell’s public dispute after her shock axe from the US version of the TV talent show, and a press conference is scheduled to happen tomorrow (Tuesday 11th March) to confirm the news in full.
