Following our ‘Twelve Ryan Tedder tracks you might have missed’ feature earlier in January, the OneRepublic frontman has just earned a further accolade as the top writer in the past quarter in the US.
According to Billboard’s quarterly review, Tedder reached the top spot for the period spanning October to December 2013 thanks to his sole credit on the smash hit Counting Stars with OneRepublic and his co-credits on Ellie Goulding’s Burn and Maroon 5’s Love Somebody.
The news comes hot on the heels of Tedder’s inclusion in the UK top songwriters list (No. 4) according to Music Week and The Official Charts Company. Tedder started the year off with a bang with Counting Stars being named the ninth biggest selling single of last year.
Outside of his success with OneRepublic, Ryan has helped to craft a number of hits for some of the world’s biggest artists including Leona Lewis (Bleeding Love), Adele (Rumour Has It) and Jordin Sparks (Battlefield) to name a few. Tedder ended last year by collaborating with Beyoncé on her surprise eponymous album for one of its lead single XO, a song he co-wrote and co-produced having previously worked with the star on one of her biggest hits to date Halo.
