Hollywood writer/director/actor Harold Ramis, famed for his roles in Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day and Caddyshack, has died, aged 69.

The star reportedly passed away in the early hours from complications stemming from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease involving the swelling of blood vessels. Ramis was with his family at the time.

The actor, whose role as Ghostbuster Egon Spengler brought him to global notoriety, was also famed for his production and directorship skills, including both Caddyshack and Ghostbusters movies alongside National Lampoon’s Vacation.
