Pharrell and friends remind us of the glory days of hip-hop with all-star NBA performance

Pharrell Williams brought on pals Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, P. Diddy, Nelly and Chad Hugo for a powerful performance to mark the kick off for the 2014 NBA All Stars.

The 20-minute set saw Pharrell open up with his early Jay Z-featuring Frontin’, with the beat then moving into Nelly’s Hot In Herre, with the rapper gracing the stage to join Williams.

Audience members were witnessing royalty when both P.Diddy and Busta Rhymes appeared to perform Pass the Rock This Way, a new basketball-themed update of their early 2000’s collaboration Pass the Courvoisier, Part II.

Following a quick break, Pharrell return to the stage, bringing Snoop Dogg in tow, for a performance of 2003-hit Beautiful, which nicely sums up the tone of the evening. Seeing all these hip-hop kings under one roof reminded us how strong and influential N.E.R.D. and Pharrell Williams were back in the day.
