Ed Sheeran has taken to Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show this evening to unveil more surrounding his recently-announced tour along with his new album.
Starting the interview, Sheeran confirmed that whilst fans will have to wait until October for his UK dates, he’ll be playing smaller shows and ‘a festival’ (Glastonbury, anyone?) beforehand.
The Suffolk-born singer-songwriter continued speaking regarding his new album, confirming the sophomore record had now been completed and is readying to be mixed. Working with Beastie Boys / Kanye West-producer Rick Rubin on the record, Sheeran said that Rubin’s influence helped shaped the album to something he’s now “energised for”.
On when fans would be able to hear some of the new music, Sheeran confirmed that he’d be readying the new music “very very soon”, following “I may drop a couple of YouTube videos before the main single to let fans know I’m back”.
