Ryan Tedder only found out about Beyonce’s album 90 minutes before its release!

We all know that Beyonce’s latest LP was one shrouded in secrecy, however how secret it was is only now coming to light.

OneRepublic frontman (and acclaimed songwriter) Ryan Tedder, producer of Beyonce’s new single XO only learned of the album’s release shortly before the rest of the world.

In an interview on Tuesday, Tedder said “I knew 90 minutes before it dropped. Ninety minutes. And I said nothing because I love Beyonce and I don’t want her to hate me…. I heard a rumor and then I didn’t say anything. I told my wife, ‘I think Beyonce’s album is dropping in 90 minutes,’ and then I knew that XO was on the album… I knew it was a single. I didn’t know if it was first or second. I didn’t know anything, and then today I found out that it was the lead.”

Beyonce’s latest album has set records less than one week on sale, and is on course to hit one million downloads in its first seven days – a massive feat considering there was not one ounce of promotion.

The singer is set to return to the UK next year as part of a refreshed leg of her Mrs Carter World Tour; tickets are still available here from SeeTickets. Full dates below:
