Whilst the arrival of Chris Brown’s new album X keeps being pushed further and further back (new date of drop expected to be 26th August), it seems that the delays have definitely aided creativity.
With the incredible first-track Fine China doing the rounds a while back, as well as the wonderful Aaliyah-sampling Don’t Think They Know also creating waves (including a fantastic track-performance at the recent BET Awards), it seems that Brown is [thankfully] shunning the atypical movement from to EDM (akin to many of his peers) for just some straightforward, stripped-down R&B.
Previewing two new tracks earlier today – The Weeknd-inspired Something Special and baby-making Sex You Up, it seems Brown could well be onto a very strong album by the time X launches.
