Beyonce shows her artistic side during ‘Grown Woman’ performance at Chime for Change

Beyonce laid down the gauntlet last night with a superb performance of her Pepsi track Grown Woman at London’s Chime for Change concert. The Chime for Change initiative, funded by Gucci, was an apt event for Beyonce to perform Grown Woman – the organisation looks to promote “education, health and justice for every girl, every woman, everywhere”. With the single’s lyrics alluding to “I’m a grown woman/ I can do whatever I want”, the track was an obvious choice.

The performance of the song, widely expected to appear on Beyonce’s forthcoming album, harked back to the brilliant 2012 Billboard Awards where Beyonce’s creative streak led to a breathtaking rendition of Run The World (Girls).

Concert-goer Michelle Sykes said of the performance:

“Beyonce sounded incredible and has never looked more beautiful. She appeared to be extremely passionate about the cause and threw everything into her performance to show us all how much it meant to her”
