US rock band The Smashing Pumpkins have confirmed plans to launch a world tour. The tour will be covering select venues in the US, Japan, Europe and the UK and will run from March 2013 for a further 5 months.

Frontman Billy Corgan will join the rest of the current lineup of the Pumpkins on tour, which promises to play out old iconic material as well as tracks from 2012’s acclaimed album ‘Oceania’.

The news follows Corgan’s earlier news today that the band are currently working on new material, set for release in 2014.
