Fans may remember the Canadian rapper’s ‘9am In Dallas’; a simple freestyle which preceded the release of smash debut ‘Take Care’.
Well, now with third album ‘Nothing Was The Same’ on the horizon, Drake has released a sequel to ‘Dallas’ with ‘5am in Toronto’.
It’s a monster track – the thumping beat collides with melancholic keys, offering a perfect springboard for Drake’s impressively strong vocals to shine through. Vocals are a pure quote-a-thon too; you’ll see what I mean when you hear the full track. Standout for me though has to be ‘That’s why every song sounds like Drake featuring Drake’.
In my opinion, this could be Drake’s strongest release since Forever. Controversial I know, but I adored that track.
