Singer Justin Timberlake has raced to the top of the UK Official single chart, beating off stiff competition from Bastille and One Direction.
UK Indie act Bastille looked set to take the top spot during the midweek charts with new single ‘Pompeii’, however were locked in a close race with Timberlake’s ‘Mirror’s, the second track off the US star’s forthcoming album ‘The 20/20 Experience’.
This was Timberlake’s first number one in just under seven years.
Elsewhere in the Top 5, Machlemore’s ‘Thrift Shop’ dropped to number four, whilst One Direction’s ‘One Way Or Another’, the official track from this year’s Comic Relief, was at number three. Avicci’s ‘I Could Be The One’ rounded off the top at number 5.
