The Rolling Stones and Florence Welch were the big winners at last night’s NME Awards, picking up two gongs apiece.
The rockers received the prizes for ‘Best Film’ for documentary ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ as well as the award for ‘Best Live Band’. Meanwhile Welch picked up ‘Best Solo Artist’ as well as ‘Best Dancefloor Anthem’ for her duet with Calvin Harris on ‘Sweet Nothing’.
Other winners of the night, included The Cribs for ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music’, whilst The ‘Maccabees’ took the coveted ‘Best Album’ award.
Pop band One Direction, who last week were awarded the ‘Global Success’ Award at The BRITS also took away two awards at the NMEs, however probably not the ones they would’ve wanted. The group were named ‘Worst Band’, whilst member Harry Styles was declared ‘Villain Of Thw Year’.
