Number-one singer Gabrielle Aplin has just launched her own record label, called Never Fade. The artist achieved chart-prominence when her cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s ‘The Power Of Love’ was used as the soundtrack to John Lewis’ Christmas 2012 TV ad.
Aplin, who is signed to Parlophone is eager to use the label as a springboard for future new artists and has already signed first act – Hannah Grace. Grace is rumoured to be supporting Aplin on her first UK tour.
Of the venture, Aplin said:
When I went to City Of Bath College I studied the music business. I like being able to understand that side of things, so I’ve started my own label, Never Fade. Hannah’s voice is amazing. It’s like Beyoncé covering Michael Kiwanuka.”
