On the day one of the most important sporting events around the world gets started, Basement Jaxx have shared the official video for Mermaid of Bahia a Brazilian reworked version of new album track Mermaid of Salinas.
The tropical beats and carnival rhythms come backed with a Portuguese reinterpretation courtesy of singer Nina Miranda that fits nowhere better than the launch of the World Cup in Sao Paulo this evening.
Mermaid of Salinas is set to appear on Basement Jaxx’s upcoming studio album Junto, set to drop in August, whilst the dance duo will embark on a number of dates this summer, giving fans a preview of new tracks from the forthcoming record.
