Prince has agreed a new partnership with Warner Brothers, in a deal that “covers every album released from 1978 into the ’90s” according to a press release issued today.

The first fruit of the new agreement will see a digitally-remastered rerelease of the Purple One’s iconic album, Purple Rain, in celebration of the LP’s 30th anniversary later this year.

The press release also gave more insight into Prince’s eagerly-awaited 3RDEYEGIRL album, PLECTRUMELECTRUM, saying that a new album will also be released under the deal with Warner, featuring “long-awaited, previously unheard music”

The press release promises “a brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship.”
