Madonna to perform with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at Grammy Awards

According to online reports, Madonna is said to be preparing to join Macklemore and Ryan Lewis onstage this weekend during Sunday’s Grammy Awards.

Gerrick Kennedy, music writer for the LA Times, took to Twitter earlier this evening to seemingly confirm the rumours, adding that Mary Lambert is also likely to appear onstage, meaning Macklemore and co will be performing their anthem Same Love.

Madonna and Macklemore will join a long list of already-confirmed performers for the annual awards ceremony, with the most notable being Beyonce, who is scheduled for her first live public performance of new material since her surprise self-titled album landed last month.

Pharrell Williams premieres new version of ‘Happy’ video

Pharrell Williams has unveiled a brand new video for his global smash single Happy.

The video, shared earlier on YouTube, is of the more ‘normal’ length versus his previous visual for the track, which lasted a record 24-hours.

Stephen Fry to join cast of 24

According to online reports, British thespian Stephen Fry is to join the cast of the new series of hit US TV show 24.

The mini-series, which is set for its US premiere this May, has been dubbed 24: Live Another Day; Fry will play British Prime Minister Trevor Davies who comes to blows with US President James Heller (played by William Devane) over an international crisis.

Keifer Sutherland will return as Jack Bauer as the lead character of the series, which is to be predominately set in London.

Lyric video premiere: Zedd – ‘Find You’ (feat. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant)

Zedd has premiered the lyric video for new single Find You, the follow-up to 2013 hit Stay The Night.

The track, featuring the EDM supremo’s close pals Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant, is to be featured in a new TV commercial for Bud Light Platinum, and is set to be aired this weekend in the US during Sunday’s Grammy Awards; the track is expected to go on sale soon after the spot airs.

The unveiling of the track marks a busy weekend for Zedd as he readies a showcase tomorrow (Saturday 25th January) at Universal Music’s Grammy party.

Chase and Status announce next single – ‘Blk & Blu’ ft Ed Thomas

Chase and Status have announced their new single Blk & Blu, the latest release from their #2 gold-certified 2013 album Brand New Machine.

The track, one of our favourites from the British dance duo’s brilliant LP, features emerging artist Ed Thomas (whose latest single On My Own we featured a fortnight ago), and harks strongly back to the early days of UK garage, with a sublime 2-step beat not far off the gems from MJ Cole’s heyday.

Chlöe Howl performs ‘Rumour’ at Abbey Road Studios

As part of her inclusion as a BRIT Awards Critics Choice nominee, rising British singer/songwriter Chlöe Howl recently took to the infamous Abbey Road Studios in London, performing acoustic tracks for the BRITs committee.

Watch the stunning rendition of Rumour below; instant proof that Howl’s talents were more than worthy to be included as a finalist for the coveted award.

The BRIT Awards are to be aired live on 19th February, with guest performers so far confirmed as Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Arctic Monkeys and Pharrell Williams.

Mary J Blige’s father stabbed; in critical condition

After starting the week on a high with the unveiling of Disclosure-collaboration on F For You, soul queen Mary J Blige has hit a low note after it has been confirmed her estranged father Thomas Blige has been stabbed and in a critical condition.

According to online reports, Michigan police have held Blige’s ex-girlfriend on suspicion of attempted murder after the 63 year-old father of the hit singer suffered a neck wound during the incident on Wednesday.

Blige’s ex-girlfriend is set to appear before a court today.

Watch Damon Albarn play new solo track ‘Lonely, Press Play’ at Sundance Film Festival

After recently unveiling the first of his new solo material in Everyday Robots (his new single and title track from forthcoming debut album), Blur frontman Damon Albarn recently performed a new cut from the LP, Lonely, Press Play at the Sundance Film Festival.

The track was performed at the YouTube/Spin live session, and fortunately was captured by a fan for us all to revel at.

Haim, Chvrches, Disclosure, Sam Smith and more for Longitude Festival

Organisers of Ireland’s Longitude Festival have confirmed the first wave of performers for this year’s event, set to be taking place on 18th-20th July.

Set to be topping the bill are Disclosure alongside Ben Howard, whilst HAIM, Chvrches, Sam Smith, Bondax, Bastille and Julio Bashmore have also been confirmed.

Tickets are set to go on sale on Friday 7th February, with a further announcement on more performers expected the day before (6th February).

Avicii has premiered the lyric video to latest release, Addicted To You.

Taken from the EDM producer’s debut album True, Addicted To You, featuring the vocals of Audra Mae, follows 2013 hit tracks Hey Brother and Wake Me Up.
