Listen: London Grammar return with new single, ‘Baby It’s You’

Bar their appearance on last year’s Flume bouncer ‘Let You Know‘, it’s safe to say that London Grammar’s absence from the new music-front has been markedly-notable.

Fear not though; after all the shit that’s happened in 2020, it’s time to flip things somewhat, as the electronic trio return with their first taste of new music in over three years with ‘Baby It’s You’.

Premiered as Clara Amfo’s ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, the track leads the charge for the band’s third studio album, expected to land later this year, and marks the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Truth Is A Beautiful Thing’.

To celebrate the launch of their anticipated new album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’, The 1975 have teamed up with Spotify to provide what’s cited as ‘an exciting new enhanced album experience’.

Featuring exclusive new videos, in-depth storylines and animated artwork, the experience will allow fans to journey deeper into the key narratives of the record, and hear thought-provoking pieces from each of the band members.

Sulinna Ong, Spotify UK and Ireland, Head of Music, said: “There’s so much that goes into the creative process of making an album. If you’ve ever wondered what goes through the mind of your favourite artists when it comes to their music, now you can find out directly from the artists themselves. Spotify’s enhanced album experience, including our “Storylines” feature, enables an artist to communicate at a much deeper level via accompanying short video vignettes.

“The 1975 have a devoted fan base built on a foundation of mutual understanding and shared intimacy – this is a band who are unafraid of sharing their vulnerabilities. It’s this innate understanding of how to connect to their listeners alongside their drive to always push the creative envelope that sees The 1975 harness Storylines to incredible effect for their latest album, Notes On A Conditional Form. The album experience on Spotify consists of exclusive videos and animated artwork, with lead singer Matty tackling big themes from the nature of the virtual self to music, art and beauty as a means of subversion – giving fans a window directly into the heart and soul of the band.”
