Audio: Louis Mattrs – ‘Bow Down’

Toward the end of last year, we awarded Louis Mattrs with one of our ‘Ones To Watch‘ monikers for 2016 – his Slow Waves EP was more than solid, and showcased a bright future for British soul with an edgier backdrop than previous generations.

Today, Louis shares his first piece of new music for the year via the Two Inch Punch-produced Bow Down, alongside the track’s beautifully-shot visual, further adding to the brooding sound he’s been polishing since prior to Slow Waves.

Catch it below – a new EP is also forthcoming:

Audio: Ben Alessi – ‘U’

NYC-based Ben Alessia has shared his impressive debut single U, an elegant and inviting head-nodder that’s likely to make the youngster start becoming a name heavily-pushed by the blogsphere pretty soon.

There’s elements of Troye Sivan in the build-up to this one, before Alessi comes into his own with an absorbing chorus. We can’t wait to hear more – grab a listen below:

Audio: Leo Kalyan – ‘Silhouette’

Leo Kalyan has returned one year on from his superb Silver Linings EP, announcing his new Outside In project alongside the collection’s lead track Silhouette.

London-based Kalyan has historically nailed it with his ethereal sounds, a direction that continues with Silhouette. In fact Outside In also seems to arrive at the right time – Leo’s music sits incredibly well with the gloomy early-night ethos of the colder months and with his previous work he’s delivered music that bodes a smooth soundtrack to candle-burning, wintry nights.

Stream Silhouette below; you’ll get where we’re coming from on first listen. Outside In lands toward the end of October:

Audio: Dusky – ‘Songs of Phase’

Ahead of next week’s release of their forthcoming record Outer, Dusky have shared the latest excerpt from the project, switching into darkened-basement territory with the mechanical Songs Of Phase.

Taking things back to the duo’s early material (think 2014’s Inta), Songs Of Phase fully asserts Dusky’s lead within the bass/house/tech fields, whilst also showcasing their wider diversities all the way from euphoria to dark and dingy brain-scrambling sonics.

Grab a listen in full below; Outer drops this Friday (14th October) and can be preordered over on iTunes / Apple Music straight away:

Glastonbury 2017 is now sold out!

**STORY DEVELOPING**

All remaining tickets for 2017’s Glastonbury Festival have now sold out, following Thursday’s quick rush for the initial batch of 15,000 coach and ticket passes.

Confirmed by both Glastonbury Festival and SeeTickets moments ago, it is estimated that almost two-million users logged in worldwide at 9am this morning to reserve the remaining 120,000 tickets.

Those who were not so fortunate as to secure tickets should lay their hopes on the resale next year – historically additionally batches of tickets go back on the market some two months before the event as punters who originally bagged their chance to attend Glastonbury Festival fail to pay balances and/or request ticket refunds.

2017’s Glastonbury Festival runs from Wednesday 21st and Sunday 25th June, and as per previous years, tickets have been snapped up without any prior knowledge of any performers. Contrary to previous reports, there will no longer be a Glastonbury Festival in 2018, whilst a rumoured event in Longleat has also failed to transpire due to various disagreements with the proposed site owners.

Audio: Hurley Mower – ‘Drip’

Chicago-based producer Hurley Mower has certainly grabbed our attention with his new joint Drip, the latest track to come French imprint TheSoundYouNeed as they start to shift their focus toward self-signed work ahead of purely just showcasing best-in-class talent.

Agreeably, futuretronica seems to be the sound in everyones’ ears at the moment, and whilst there’s a shitload of artists out there who seem to mimic the sound without adding anything new, there’s also a handful of producers who seem to be striving the genre forward – Mower can fortunately count himself within the latter bracket.

The beat on Drip is dazzling, whilst the vocal distortions are equally as enchanting. Grab a listen below; chances are you’ll be hitting the ‘replay’ button pretty quickly:

Audio: Disciples – ‘Daylight’ (Boston Bun Remix)

Disciples’ Daylight quickly became one of the defining summer anthems for the club kids when the London-based trio dropped the joint back in August – the track’s deep grooves, accompanied by its echoing vocals, meant it led to heavy dancefloor rotations since, and today it garners a further lease of life courtesy of Ed Banger’s Boston Bun.
