Video: The Chemical Brothers – ‘C.h.e.m.i.c.a.l.’

The Chemical Brothers have their announced brand new track Chemical (or to correctly spell it, C.h.e.m.i.c.a.l.), the first piece of new music since last summer’s Born In The Echoes.

Released ahead of their upcoming UK shows (which kick off next month at London’s Hammersmith Apollo), Chemical received the deserved credible nod as Annie Mac’s latest ‘Hottest Record’, though has previously been previewed during their duo’s various sets throughout the summer.

For those hopeful for another full-length body of work, alas you’re going to be disappointed – C.h.e.m.i.c.a.l. is a one-off track at this point.

A Tribe Called Quest announce new album ‘We Got It From Here.. Thank You 4 Your Service’

A Tribe Called Quest have revealed the artwork for their brand new album We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service.

Set for release next Friday (11th November), the project, the group’s first in 18 years, hears the original ATCQ lineup, with vocals having been recorded prior to Phife Dawg’s passing earlier this year – the record will also feature guest spots from Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, Jack White and Busta Rhymes.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice some familiarity within the artowrk, which shows a nod back to the group’s second album The Low End Theory (check the painted woman in the corner); ATCQ have also confirmed We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service will be their final ever studio outing.

Good things indeed come to those who wait!

Sampha announces world tour & shares details of debut album ‘Process’

Sampha has shared details on his anticipated debut album Process, alongside announcing dates for an extended 2017 world tour.

Set to land on 3rd February, Process will feature 10 tracks, including previous singles Timmy’s Prayer and the impeccable Blood On Me; there will also be three UK dates as part of the world tour, which will see Sampha also hit the rest of Europe, the US and Australia.

Video: Mura Masa – ‘Love$ick’ (ft A$AP Rocky)

Mura Masa has shared the official video for Love$ick, his new collaboration with A$AP Rocky.

Shot entirely 35mm film, the clip was directed by Yoni Lappin (responsible for Mura’s What If I Go visual, alongside NAO’s Girlfriend), and filmed entirely in London.

Mura Masa previously described the coming-together of the original with A$AP, saying:

“Rocky was actually in London for a couple of days and I wanted to make him feel like I was taking the collaboration seriously, so I booked us in to Abbey Road, Studio 2, and we met up there for a couple of hours and he did his thing. It was a hell of a good time hanging out in such a legendary space with him, very surreal. The track originally was about sex and how I was feeling after a particularly empty encounter with a friend told through a kind of twisted-pop, calypso, hip hop dance track. Rocky kind of ran with that and took it to this lovelorn, exotic place. He totally injected his energy into it.”

Benicassim 2017: Red Hot Chili Peppers confirmed as first headliner

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been announced as the first headliners for 2017’s Benicassim, organisers have confirmed.

The appointment, announced earlier today, will mark the group’s first major headline festival show for next year, and follows in the footsteps of the recent release of their Dangermouse-produced album The Getaway. They are also the first act to be announced for Benicassim, with more to follow over the coming months.

Benicassim 2017 returns to its Spanish home from 13-16 July – earlybird tickets starting from £100 are onsale now via the link below:

The first official trailer for the sequel to Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting has hit the web.

Set for release on 27th January 2017, the sequel sees a return to the main cast from the original 1996 movie (Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle), albeit with a more ’21st century stance’ – “Choose life, choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares” as the opening dialogue goes.
