The Beat Hotel announces final Glastonbury foray

Organisers of Glastonbury Festival’s Beat Hotel have announced 2019 as their swansong year, saying farewell to Worthy Farm after years of being synonymous with day-raves that go through to the early hours.

Situated adjacent to the Pyramid Stage, organisers have revealed that 2019 will go “out with a BANG”, hitting the ground running on the Wednesday whilst the rest of the site remains quiet.

Regulars spanning the likes of Seth Troxler, Daniel Avery and Moscoman will help see out 2019, whilst additional names for this year include the likes of Jon Hopkins, HAAi, Bicep and DJ Seinfeld.

Listen: Sampa The Great returns with new song ‘Final Form’

Sampa The Great has announced her new single, ‘Final Form’.

Premiered as Zane Lowe’s latest World Record on Apple’s Beats 1, ‘Final Form’ hears the MC embrace her struggle as an artist – “It’s easy to get caught up in the constant chatter around you about how ‘you are not there yet’ how you ‘might not make it'” says Sampa, adding “Final Form is about expanding yourself and calling out any negativity towards that growth process. As an artist I now recognise my in-between stage; sometimes it drops and sometimes it rises, but I love that I get to level up each second. I might even final form tomorrow.”

The ‘Final Form’ official video, also released today, sees Sampa travel back to Zambia to explore the traditions and communities of her roots. Bridging the gap between the traditional worlds of Nyau dancers and modern Zambian youth culture, it was filmed in the run-up to her first ever shows on African soil, including her recent homecoming show in Zambia.

Having previously performed worldwide supporting the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Thundercat, Joey Bada$$, Hiatus Kaiyote, Noname, Ibeyi and Little Simz, 2019 will see Sampa make her debut at Glastonbury later this month, alongside play shows at Love Supreme Jazz Festival and with Sons Of Kemet at Somerset House’s Summer Sessions.

Glastonbury’s Williams Green reveals 2019 lineup

With just three weeks to go until Glastonbury Festival opens its gates, organisers have now shared the detailed line-up for Williams Green, one of the north-westerly regions adjacent to the Pyramid field.

Nestled a short stroll away from Pedestrian Gate C, Williams Green has evolved into one of Worthy Farm’s many beloved sites, and has previously seen surprise appearances from the likes of Santigold, The 1975, Florence and the Machine, Two Door Cinema Club and more. 2019’s edition, which opens in full on the Thursday (27th June), will see ten different bands play daily, whilst at night, the Green turns into a parade of fun with Club De Fromage returning for another year on the Friday night (seeing through to 3am). Saturday and Sunday will see the main Williams Green tent play host to Deptford Northern Soul Club and Buttoned Down Disco.

Hear Mark Ronson and Camila Cabello connect on ‘Find U Again’

Mark Ronson has teamed up with Camila Cabello for his new song, ‘Find U Again’.

Lifted off the producer’s anticipated new album ‘Late Night Feelings’, out next month, the vibey track follows a string of successful collaborations from the new project, including the Lykke Li-featuring title-track.

Alongside the song, Ronson has also confirmed two big UK replications of his ‘Club Heartbreak’ night – taking to London’s Scala before heading over to Glastonbury for a 5-hour set at the site’s Stonebridge Bar.

Stormzy announces free live-streamed gig

Stormzy has teamed up with EE for a free live-streamed gig ahead of his headline slot at next month’s Glastonbury Festival.

Presented by Radio 1’s Clara Amfo, the event, filmed live at a secret London venue, comes in celebration of the mobile provider’s forthcoming launch of their 5G service. The entire gig will be streamed via 5G too.
