Justin Timberlake announces ‘Man Of The Woods’ UK tour

Justin Timberlake has announced the UK segment of his forthcoming ‘Man Of The Woods’ world tour.

Revealed mere hours after taking the stage at last night’s Super Bowl, the shows will see Timberlake return to the UK for the first time since his joint 2013 stint with Jay-Z on the ‘Legends Of Summer Tour’. Kicking off on 27th June in Birmingham, the singer will then travel across the country to Manchester (1st July) and Glasgow (5th July). The tour will then conclude at London’s O2 Arena on 9th July. UPDATE: Due to overwhelming demand, a second O2 Arena show had been added on 11th July.

Alongside the shows, Justin was also recently confirmed to return to the BRIT Awards stage on Wednesday 21st February.

London’s Field Day announces 2018 line-up

Organisers of London’s Field Day have announced their full 2018 line-up.

Revealed moments ago, the line-up announcement follows last week’s news of the annual festival’s relocation to Lambeth’s Brockwell Park after 11 years at Victoria Park in East London.

Running across the 1-2nd June weekend, 2018’s Field Day will see a UK festival exclusive from Erykah Badu, with additional performances from the likes of Four Tet, NAO, Loyle Carner, Jordan Rakei, Earl Sweatshirt, Kurupt FM and AJ Tracey.

Watch Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl LII Half Time show

Justin Timberlake returned to the Super Bowl last night, delivering some of his biggest hits (alongside a fairly staid performance).

Appearing amid rumours of a “will he / won’t he” usage of a Prince hologram, Timberlake used the platform to indeed pay tribute to the Purple One, instead honouring him with a video backdrop whilst singing ‘I Would Die 4 U’.

Elsewhere throughout the performance, we saw a string of tracks from Justin’s discography – ‘Cry Me A River’, ‘My Love’ and his recent single ‘Filthy’ all featured, however coupled with the ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ close, the entire set seemed too ‘family-friendly safe’ versus what could have been a forward-thinking show.

The 2018 Bestival line-up will land this week

Bestival organiser Rob Da Bank has confirmed this year’s first wave line-up announcement will land later this week.

Taking to Twitter in a post which saw the founder gear-up in attire aligning with this year’s circus theme, it was revealed that the 2018 list of acts will drop at 6pm this coming Tuesday, 6th February.

Alongside last year’s shift in location to a new home in Dorset, 2018 will also see Bestival’s usual September timeframe move one month closer to summer, and now run from 2nd-5th August. Meanwhile this year’s theme will celebrate 250 years since Philip Astley founded the modern ideology of a circus at his family amphitheatre in London.

Justin Timberlake rumoured to bring out Prince hologram at Super Bowl

Justin Timberlake will return to the Super Bowl Half Time stage later this evening (4th February), and whilst fans are speculating about a possible *NSYNC reformation, new reports are now circulating that a Prince hologram will appear mid-way through the set.

According to TMZ, the hologram will be used to honour the late musician, who performed at the Super Bowl in 2007.

Alongside the Prince rumours, Janet Jackson has also waded into the conversation, confirming that she will not be returning to the stage alongside Justin. In an Instagram statement, the singer said “To put to rest any speculation or rumors as to whether I will be performing at the Super Bowl tomorrow; I will not. Thank you for your support and I do look forward to seeing you all very soon”.

UPDATE: Prince’s former drummer Sheila E has now confirmed that the hologram tribute will no longer be used during the show, tweeting “Family, I spoke w/Justin 2nite and he shared heartfelt words of respect for Prince & the Purple fans. I look 4wrd 2 seeing what I’m sure is going 2 be a spectacular halftime show. There is no hologram.”

Timberlake’s half-time show is scheduled to be aired around 1am GMT.

Saux is definitely one that falls into that space – a quick scour on the Dutch DJ/producer’s Soundcloud shows some gorgeous examples of excellence, and particularly sounds that fans of Mura Masa and Tom Misch will massively enjoy. Saux’s tracks lead a signature blueprint of futuretronic grooves that meet funky baselines, and that ethos can fully be heard with his new single ‘Lukewarm (Only You)’.

The Chainsmokers announced as Creamfields 2018 headliners

The Chainsmokers have been announced as the latest headliners for this summer’s Creamfields.

Returning to Warrington’s Daresbury Estate after a successful show last year, the appointment of the NYC-based duo comes ahead of the full Creamfields lineup later this month. So far only Carl Cox and Eric Prydz have been announced for the weekend, which takes place on 23-26th August. The Chainsmokers will join Cox on the Friday night (the former on the North Stage; Carl Cox on the Intec Stage); meanwhile Pyrdz will close at Creamfields’ Steel Yard on Sunday 26th August.

Almost a year on since they made a huge dent on the airwaves with ‘King Kong’, Icarus are back for 2018 with the groovy ‘Love Has Come Around’.

Featuring a nifty sample from Donald Byrd’s 1981 cut of the same name, ‘Love Has Come Around’ sets a teaser for the duo’s upcoming ‘In The Dark’ EP which is expected to land in the next couple of months. The project will also coincide with their just-announced debut UK tour; tickets are available here.

We first took a shine to Mahalia after her breathtaking appearance on the BrOTHERHOOD soundtrack (alongside acting in the movie, her contribution to the record on ’17’ seriously cannot be slept on). Today, she kicks off the year with the wonderful ‘Proud of Me’ which hears the Birmingham-based youngster connect with Little Simz for the first time.

Simply put, Mahalia is another shining example of why, alongside contemporaries such as Sinead Harnett, Jorja Smith and Mabel, Brits are leading the charge for the next wave of chart domination.
