D’Angelo announces June 2018 UK shows

D’angelo has announced his return to the UK stage for the first time in two years, performing a trio of shows later this summer.

Set to hit three venues across June, the shows will see the neo-soul pioneer grace Bristol and Manchester with a rescheduled London show at the O2 Brixton Academy.

Arctic Monkeys announce 2018 European tour

Arctic Monkeys have added further European shows to their 2018 roster, following January’s reveal of multiple festival dates across the summer calendar.

The new dates will see Alex Turner and co cover their own headline shows in France, Germany, Sweden and Italy – the only UK appearance announced to-date will be as headliners of Glasgow’s TRNSMT in July, though we wouldn’t be surprised if more homegrown announcements were to follow suit soon. It’s also likely the band will use the appearances to preview music from their anticipated new album, their first studio project since 2013’s excellent ‘AM’.

Granted Mikky Ekko may not be the household name in the UK that he shares in his US homeland, but that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t have heard some of his work. Responsible for vocals on Chris Malinchak’s ‘Stranger‘ alongside Rihanna’s ‘Stay’, it’s safe to say Ekko knows his way around the music-sphere.

It’s therefore apt that we share his latest video for ‘Moment’, an erotically-charged piece which comes as the fourth song from his anticipated new album ‘FAME’, due out later this year.

Not content with sharing one of his best songs in years with last month’s ‘Look Back‘, Diplo has added more fuel to anticipation of his ‘California’ EP with his new joint ‘Worry No More’.

Featuring Lil Yachty and Santigold, the track is the third cut from the aforementioned EP, Diplo’s first solo body of work in five years. Alongside sharing the song (and video) earlier today, Diplo has also been announced to join Mark Ronson as co-headliners for this summer’s Bestival.

One of our favourite moments from this year’s BRIT Awards was seeing Little Simz happily have her moment onstage with Gorillaz, joining Damon Albarn’s band to lift the Best British Group gong. And whilst it may not have been ‘her award’ per-se, the fact that she was given the opportunity to appear in front of such a huge audience will no doubt aid her in increasing her ever-growing fanbase.

Today, ahead of her second annual Welcome To Wonderland takeover at Camden’s Roundhouse, Simz has shared the stunning visual for the ‘Stillness in Wonderland’ offshoot, ‘Low Tides’. The track itself has always been impactful, but the added bonus of a video accompaniment solidifies this.

Diplo and Mark Ronson added as third Bestival 2018 headliner

The long-awaited third headliner for this summer’s Bestival have been announced.

Having already revealed London Grammar and M.I.A. as bill-toppers for 2018, this summer will also see Diplo and Mark Ronson perform under their new Silk City project on Bestival’s Friday night.

Of the new addition to the line-up, Bestival founder Rob da Bank says: “We don’t like doing the same thing as other festivals here at Bestival HQ… so for our Friday night headliner we’ve booked something you’ll never have seen in Europe or probably the world. Two of the best party-starting DJs with a new stage show packed with surprises back to back… ladies and gents, boys and girls, please welcome Diplo and Mark Ronson aka Silk City to the stage! They’re long-time friends of Bestival, so we are ecstatic Diplo and Mark Ronson have chosen our 15th anniversary celebrations to make their European debut as Silk City with a UK festival exclusive set. And if there’s one thing you can guarantee, it’s that this pair know how to rock a party. Two of music’s greatest names together on the Castle stage, with you, us and some big, big tunes, it’s already got legendary written all over it.”

SG Lewis will release his long-awaited debut album ‘Dusk’ next month, and in celebration, he’s shared the project’s second single, ‘Coming Up’.

There’s literally nothing this young producer can’t do – everything we’ve been hearing from him over the years has been a solid 8 at worst, and with ‘Dusk’ falling as the first in a three-part project (‘Dusk, Dark, Dawn’), his impression on the various stages of a night out is almost solidified.
