Listen to Jordan Rakei’s new song ‘Wildfire’

2017 was a huge year for Jordan Rakei. The talented 25 year old vocalist, producer and songwriter made his debut on Ninja Tune with his album ‘Wallflower’ offering up a distinct take on soul that captured a sonic and emotional awareness that belied his age.

Now in 2018, Jordan has premiered his brand new track, ‘Wildfire’, showcased as part of the singer’s live session with Lauren Laverne on her BBC 6Music show.

“‘Wildfire’ is about dealing with a broken friendship. It explores how necessary it is to allow yourself to move on after you’ve been hurt and how holding a grudge affects your wellbeing,” explains Jordan. “I often write about the concept of overthinking but this track deals more with acceptance for the sake of peace of mind.”

Hear Jemu’s wonderful groove-ledden debut EP, ‘Rayban Funk’

Icarus’ Fly Boy Records have unveiled the debut project from their new signing, Jemu, who delivers some gorgeous beach-focused sonics across his three-track ‘Rayban Funk’ EP.

Pronounced Jem-You, the collection has all the hallmarks of Ibiza sunset-vibes; full of soul yet undoubtedly house, it’s no wonder the youngster calls inspiration from the likes of LTJ Bukem, DJ Premier and Jazzanova.

“For me, the real fun in writing music is coming up with chord progressions and melodies” says Jemu – “the tempo doesn’t matter as long as the musical elements create the feeling that I’m trying to achieve through the music. I have a real love for Hip Hop, R&B and Soul, so with this EP I’ve been experimenting with sound pallets and chord progressions reminiscent of those styles, but in a slightly different context.”

Pendulum release massive Icarus remix of ‘Tarantula’

Icarus have become the latest inductees to drop an edit for Pendulum’s forthcoming remix album, ‘The Reworks’.

Taking on ‘Tarantula’, the remix follows previous cuts from the likes of Noisia and Knife Party, and delivers the kind of thumping, head-nodding sonics Icarus fans would no-doubt be accustomed to, with the original’s reggae-tinged chords replaced by a more rumbling tech-house feel.

Christina Aguilera has unveiled her new ballad ‘Twice’, the second single from her upcoming sixth studio album, ‘Liberation’.

Coming one week on from the album’s buzz-track ‘Accelerate‘, which featured Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, ‘Twice’ will join a further thirteen songs when ‘Liberation’ lands next month. It was recently revealed that Aguilera will appear at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards with Demi Lovato to perform ‘Fall In Line’, also taken from the singer’s new record.

Groove Armada have celebrated the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed debut album ‘Northern Star’ by announcing an all-new EP.

Released via Waze & Odyssey’s Street Tracks imprint, the three-song project (titled ‘L’esprit d’escalier’) leads with the minimalistic, groove-leaden ‘For You’ a joint that’s definitely been created with the underground kids in mind.

Years and Years have announced ‘If You’re Over Me’ as the second single from their upcoming sophomore album ‘Palo Santo’.

The track, which follows on from March’s ‘Sanctify’, has been teased on the band’s socials over the past few days and comes ahead of the album’s official release on 6th July.
